Family Guy and Gene KellyStewie dances with Gene Kelly for a helicopter
The Family Guy's Stewie does a song-n'-dance with legendary dancer Gene Kelly in This Family Guy clip.
(Source: www.devilducky.com) Although I watch Fox's The Family Guy rarely (if at all), I must say that the show does have its moments. Here's one of them: in order to rent a helicopter, Stewie suddenly breaks into a song-n'-dance number with Gene Kelly, updating Kelly's classic "The Worry Song" routine with Hanna-Barbera's Jerry the Mouse from Anchors Aweigh (1945). Yeah, this is the sort of off-the-wall reference that Family Guy fans are used to, but I have to give props to the animators for doing such an amazing job of updating this classic number. And it's not exactly something that TFG's twentysomething core audience is going to be aware of: let's face it, how many Family Guy fans know who the **** Gene Kelly is, much less have an appreciation for his movies? So mega props to Seth MacFarlane and the other animators for throwing this in among the Star Wars references and other gags. You can check out Stewie's tap expertise here. Or, you can see the original clip with Jerry the Mouse over here.
